Here she was interrupted again. Mr. Bennet protested against any description of finery. She was therefore obliged to seek another branch of the subject, and related, with much bitterness of spirit and some exaggeration, the shocking rudeness of Mr. Darcy.

1. interrupted

They heckled him and interrupted his address with angry questions.

The old man interrupted her at last.

He hates to be interrupted during training.

Their conversation was interrupted in midstream by the baby crying.

2. protested

They had proved unpopular with head teachers, who protested they undermined efforts to maintain discipline in schools.

But the Treasury protested, and the final version requires only a general notice that third-party contacts are possible.

Glentoran protested and referee Moutray consulted assistant Gareth Eakin before confirming the spot-kick verdict.

用法:“related... the shocking rudeness”講述…

8. bitterness

But underneath the humour is an edge of bitterness.

When parents find it hard to let go of bitterness or anger, or if they are depressed about the changes brought on by divorce, they can find help from a counselor or therapist.

But its pages are also permeated by a bitterness towards Bill Gates, the man with whom he created a company that transformed the world of technology.

9. exaggeration

用法:“with some exaggeration”,夸張地講述。

It's no exaggeration to say that most students have never read a complete Shakespeare play.

To call stress an epidemic isn't exaggeration.

Now practice telling stories describing them in a humorous way. It might take a little exaggeration or dramatization, but that's what good storytelling is all about.

Only now do I understand. After my first few papers, Mrs. Abrams knew I had a problem with exaggeration, flamboyant descriptions, and a lack of organization in my papers.

10. shocking

11. rudeness

In total, Mr Neale faced 35 charges of clinical incompetence, professional negligence and extreme rudeness.

While proponents see matkot as a symbol of the cooperative spirit in Israel, critics denounced it as emblematic of rudeness.

1. “Here she was interrupted again.”

interrupted:打斷。

2. “Mr. Bennet protested against any description of finery.”

3. “She was therefore obliged to seek another branch of the subject,”

obliged:被迫的。

branch of the subject:話題的分支。

4. “and related, with much bitterness of spirit and some exaggeration, the shocking rudeness of Mr. Darcy.”
