2024年7月6日至8月30日，藝術(shù)家夏喬伊受Skyline Project邀請于“SUHE HAUS”舉辦他的最新公共藝術(shù)項目“排演（DRY RUN）”，在這次項目中，藝術(shù)家利用多種織物在屋頂搭建了一頂巨型帳篷，以此展開有關(guān)當下人類所面臨的生存與危機的藝術(shù)實踐。

在夏喬伊以往的大型作品中，他以視覺語言集中探討了“太陽能量”影響人類歷史進程的研究。過剩的太陽能量總是伴隨著破壞性，例如科學家正在西伯利亞的森林里進行“伐林還草”的實驗，利用草比樹木更淺的顏色將更多的太陽光反射回宇宙，以減緩凍土層的融解速度。而這次在Skyline Project創(chuàng)作中，藝術(shù)家在城市建筑的天臺，利用織物搭建了一座臨時帳篷，觸發(fā)織物與太陽能量之間的互動實驗，并將它看做是一個微型的“地球工程”（Geoengineering）。

在“排演（DRY RUN）”中，藝術(shù)家利用印花牛津布和鋁箔網(wǎng)來凸顯織物對陽光做出不同的反應(yīng)。例如鋁箔網(wǎng)允許一部分光線進入帳篷進行照明，又將其余的太陽光反射回宇宙中去，幫助建筑在夏季降溫。在織物搭成的“庇護所”上，藝術(shù)家在局部鏤空處嵌入棱鏡，當陽光在不同時段從鏤空處射入，日光被鑲嵌于帳篷上的棱鏡所解構(gòu)，彩虹與帳篷內(nèi)的觀眾、空氣、物質(zhì)構(gòu)成混響，由此藝術(shù)家試圖營造一個多感官的沉浸體驗。

其中，夏喬伊專門為搭建帳篷的牛津布設(shè)計了一款具有上海本土性的“上海迷彩（Shanghai Camo）”。藝術(shù)家將平時在上海拍攝到的小型野生動物、野菜和冒險裝備拼合成一組印花圖案。其中包含有野蔥、竹筍、草頭等常見的野菜，還有獐、貉、黑臉琵鷺等珍稀動物。在夏喬伊看來，“上海迷彩“在還原了本土的自然景觀之余，可重復的花紋則成為了一種地方性的迷彩。

夏喬伊 | Joye Xia

夏喬伊，1992年出生于中國杭州，2016年獲得伊利諾伊州芝加哥藝術(shù)學院（School of the Art Institute of Chicago, IL）藝術(shù)學士學位，現(xiàn)生活工作于上海。夏喬伊的作品涉及在震蕩的全球化的背景下，討論他所在世代的文化與藝術(shù)史相關(guān)問題。他標志性的縫合畫、雕塑和裝置呈現(xiàn)出 對圖像和材料的廣泛研究。在夏喬伊最近的作品中，對地理變遷的探索與文化演變的調(diào)查成為了他的母題。他的場域特定作品結(jié)合并回應(yīng)了展覽空間的建 筑與材料性。他通過縫合來自不同時空的素材，考察元敘事對個體和主流價值的投射與建構(gòu)。

Joey Xia (b.1992) received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2016, he currently lives and works in Shanghai. Joey Xia’s work engages with issues related to his peer, culture, and art history against unfathomable globalization. Xia's practices show extensive investigations on imagery and materiality, which culminated in his signature stitched canvas painting, sculpture and installation. In his most recent works, the subject matter are informed by his exploration of geographical shifts and cultural drifts, Xia creates site-specific work that incorporates and responding both the architecture of the exhibition space and materials gathered from the region. Through stitching various materials and images from different time and space, Joey Xia examines the projection of meta narration onto constructed individual and mainstream values.
