介詞本身的含義相對簡單，但與其他詞組成介詞短語時卻可以表達多種含義，因此在句中的用法相當靈活。想必大家都認識單詞time（時間），但肯定有部分同學無法認全以下六個介詞短語：at time（偶爾），at all times（始終/隨時），by the time（到…時候），in time（按時），on time（準時），with time（隨著時間的變化）。
