情人節(jié)里“談情說(shuō)愛(ài)”!

在每一年的”情人節(jié)“(the Valentine's Day),”愛(ài)“(love)是一個(gè)永恒的話(huà)題,也是一個(gè)人一生要經(jīng)歷的情感。

每一種語(yǔ)言都會(huì)用自己獨(dú)特的方式來(lái)表達(dá)“愛(ài)”,也產(chǎn)生了各式各樣的詞語(yǔ)。在“戀愛(ài)”的路上,對(duì)于愛(ài)的理解與感悟也會(huì)不同。


Falling in love 墜入愛(ài)河

catch someone's eye = to be attractive to someone 

與某人目光相遇(吸引某人)

The shy man at the back of the class caught my eye.

坐在教室后排的那個(gè)害羞的男生吸引了我的目光。


to fancy someone (British English) = to find someone attractive 

喜歡某人(英式英語(yǔ),發(fā)現(xiàn)某人很有魅力):

My friend fancies you!

我的朋友很喜歡你!


to have a crush on someone = to only be able to think about one person: 

迷戀某人(腦子里只能想著一個(gè)人)

When I was at school, I had a crush on a film star.

to have a soft spot for someone = to have a weakness for someone

對(duì)某人有好感

She has a soft spot for Richard - he can do anything!

to have the hots for someone = to find someone very attractive

愛(ài)慕某人(發(fā)現(xiàn)某人很有吸引力)

to go out with someone (British English) = to date someone

和某人出去約會(huì)

to go steady = to go out with someone

他們從大學(xué)一年級(jí)就確定戀愛(ài)關(guān)系了。


to fall for someone = to fall in love

與某人墜入愛(ài)河

He always falls for the wrong types!

他總是愛(ài)錯(cuò)了人!


to fall head over heels for someone = to completely fall in love

墜入情海(完全墜入愛(ài)河)

He fell head over heels for her.

他與她深深墜入情海之中。


to be lovey-dovey = for a couple to show everyone how much they are in love: 

卿卿我我(總想向別人展示他們有多么相愛(ài))

They're so lovey-dovey, always whispering to each other and looking into each other's eyes.

他們那么卿卿我我,總是低頭互相耳語(yǔ)或者注視著對(duì)方的眼睛。


to have eyes only for = to be attracted to one person only

“我的眼里只有你”(只被一個(gè)人吸引)

He's dropped all his old friends, now that he has eyes only for Susie.

to be the apple of someone's eye = to be loved by someone, normally an older relative

to be smitten by someone = to be in love with someone

a love-nest = the place where two lovers live

to be loved-up (British English) = to exist in a warm feeling of love

He has always been the love of her life.

Types of love 不同類(lèi)型的愛(ài)

puppy love = love between teenagers

早戀(青少年期的愛(ài)戀)

It's just puppy love - you'll grow out of it!

cupboard love = love for someone because they give you food

to be on the rocks = a relationship that is in difficulty

Once she moved out, it was clear their marriage was on the rocks.

to have a stormy relationship = a relationship with many arguments

a love-rat = a man who betrays his girlfriend / wife
