Once upon a time there were four little Rabbits, and their names were—Flopsy,Mopsy,Cotton-tail,and Peter.

They lived with their Mother in a sand-bank, underneath the root of a very big fir-tree.

'Now my dears,' said old Mrs. Rabbit one morning, 'you may go into the fields or down the lane, but don't go into Mr. McGregor's garden: your Father had an accident there; he was put in a pie by Mrs. McGregor.'

'Now run along, and don't get into mischief. I am going out.'"

Then old Mrs. Rabbit took a basket and her umbrella, and went through the wood to the baker's.

She bought a loaf of brown bread and five currant buns.

Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail, who were good little bunnies, went down the lane to gather blackberries.

But Peter, who was very naughty, ran straight away to Mr. McGregor's garden, and squeezed under the gate!

很久以前，有四只可愛的小兔子，他們的名字分別叫佛羅普塞、莫普塞、庫特泰爾和彼得。

他們和他們的媽媽一起，住在一棵大樅樹樹根下面的一個沙洞里。

“哦，我親愛的寶貝們”，一天早晨，兔子媽媽說：“你們可以到麥田里或者沿著這條小路去玩，但是千萬不能去麥戈雷格先生的菜園。要知道，你們的爸爸就是在那兒出的事兒，他被麥戈雷格先生做成了餡餅。”

好了，你們可以走了，但是不許調(diào)皮搗蛋啊，我現(xiàn)在要出去。"  

然后，兔子媽媽提了個籃子，又拿上她的雨傘，穿過森林，來到了一家面包店。

她買了一條黑面包和5個剛剛烤好的小圓果子面包。

佛羅普塞、莫普塞和庫特泰爾都是懂事又聽話的好孩子，他們?nèi)齻€手拉著手一起到小路下面去撿黑莓。

但是，彼得卻沒聽媽媽的話。他太淘氣了，他徑直朝麥戈雷格先生的菜園跑去，一縮身就從大門底下擠了進(jìn)去!
